Visual Artist Guide

Details
ART Station provides member artists and craftspersons a variety of venues to exhibit fine arts.
Exhibition Opportunities:
Member Juried Exhibitions and Competitions
The purpose of these exhibitions is to provide an arena of goodwill for ART Station member artists to exhibit and sell their art work.  Each year, ART Station offers visual artists a number of opportunities to enter their work in member exhibition/competitions. Each artist may submit one original (sorry, no prints accepted) piece per exhibition in fine art of fine craft in any media (except jewelry or clothing). There is a $5 per piece jury fee for each exhibition. Works are juried from the submission of the actual piece. The jurors are individuals with outstanding accomplishments in the visual arts who select quality work and then award prizes for their top three choices. These prize winners receive cash awards at the opening night reception of each exhibition.Criteria for submissions includes that the work has been completed within the last two years and not have been previously exhibited at ART Station. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 6’x6′ framed. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 6′ in any direction, and any component must not weight more than 150 lbs. Works that exceed 150 lbs. may be shown by invitation only.   All paintings must be ready for hanging, with wire in place. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted. Glass will be accepted in pastel only, per insurance guidelines. If other works are submitted with glass, ART Station cannot be held responsible for any damage.

ART Station encourages sales for works, but works don’t have to be for sale. Items not for sale will be accepted for jurying and will be marked as such in the exhibition. A current ART Station membership is required, and a 30% donation to ART Station will be withheld upon sale of items with 70% forwarded to member craftspersons.

Opening Receptions
All artists are encouraged, along with friends and family, to attend the opening night reception of each exhibition. This is an opportunity to meet and talk with other participating artists and patrons, as well as view each new exhibition in an informal reception setting.
