We are delighted to announce the 2008-2009 Theatre Season.  This year’s season features seven shows - all at accessible prices - making ART Station’s subscription packages a great buy!  The subscription series productions are A Tuna Christmas, A Broadway Christmas Carol, Lewis Grizzard, Tea at Five, Tuesdays with Morrie, Tell me More: Things I wish I had Asked my Father and ARE WE THERE YET?  ART Station subscribers enjoy great benefits such as one free show, a Flex Pass option, priority seating, and of course, the most exciting professional performers from the region.

November 19 - 23

"A Tuna Christmas"

ONLY FIVE PERFORMANCES!

Come to ART Station the week before Thanksgiving for a pre-holiday Seasons Greeting from "A Tuna Christmas," the hilarious sequel to the hit comedy, "Greater Tuna." Two actors portray all 24 citizens of Texas' third smallest town, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. This time, it's 24 hours before Christmas and all comic hell is about to break loose as the delightfully eccentric characters attempt to cope with seasonal traumas such as a disaster prone little theatre production of "A Christmas Carol," and a yard decorating contest that is being sabotaged by a mysterious Christmas phantom! Bring the whole family and join in the holiday fun!
 

December 10 - December 21

"A Broadway Christmas Carol"

"A Broadway Christmas Carol" mixes Charles Dickens' classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge with song parodies of your favorite Broadway show tunes. Even though Dickens wrote a lot of characters into his original piece, "A Broadway Christmas Carol," uses only three actors and a piano player to accomplish the witty song parodies, the lightning-speed costume changes, and of course the infamous ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. It is laugh-out-loud, roll-in-the- aisles funny, while still delivering the original Dickens story. Look for new songs and material added for this year's performances.

"Lewis Grizzard: In His Own Words"

Performed by Bill Oberst Jr.

ONLY FOUR PERFORMANCES

Back by popular demand after playing to sold-out crowds for eight years, ART Station is pleased to bring back Bill Oberst as Lewis Grizzard. This performance is a loving tribute and pays respect to "one of the foremost humorists in the country." The show honors Lewis Grizzard with the best of his stand-up comedy and selections from his books and columns, spreading his unique writings and love of the South.

February 20 - March 8

"Tea at Five" by Matthew Lombardo

This production is a one-woman show that captures the fiery spirit of Katherine Hepburn's journey from a well-heeled Yankee childhood to winner of four Oscars. Ensconced at her beloved Connecticut home, Ms. Hepburn reflects on the dizzying heights and emotional lows of her upbringing, her adventures in show business and her romance with Spencer Tracy. Audiences leave with new memories of one of the most dearly loved ladies of an era. "Marvelous! Well-written!" N.Y. Times. "Skillfully written and sheer fun!" N.Y. Daily News.

"Tuesdays With Morrie"

June 10 - June 14

"Tell Me More: Things I Wished I had Asked my Father"

Written by David Hirt Master Storyteller, David Hirt, shares his experiences of growing up with a Yankee Jewish father and a Baptist Western North Carolina mother. He calls it "Brisket on a Biscuit” or “Fried Bologna on Bagel.”

"Are We There Yet?"

Written by James Hindman, Ray Roderick, & Cheryl Stern

with Music by John Glaudini

Hang on for the ride! A versatile cast of four creates a unique and entertaining evening of song, dance and sketch comedy as they hold up the mirror to modern family life. A fresh contemporary look at the typical and not so typical American family as they embark on "The Roller Coaster of Life." This delightful journey down the road of life hits all the highlights, from senior prom, to childbirth, blind dates, empty nests, aging parents, and what it really means to be a family.

FLEX PASS SUBSCRIBERS

Don’t want to select your dates now?  Not a problem, just add $5 per person to your subscription order and call us with your dates on a show by show basis. This package is only available through the Box Office.

All performances are in the ART Station Theatre located at 5384 Manor Drive in Historic Stone Mountain Village. The Village of Stone Mountain is located in the City of Stone Mountain one exit prior to Stone Mountain Park. 

Ticket Policies/Information

All sales are final and will be charged at the time the reservation is made.

No refunds. In the event of a cancellation for which there is no rescheduled date, a refund for this ticket may be issued at the option of the management.

Facility Fee

A facility fee of $2.00 is added to each ticket order. The money raised through the facility fee is used specifically to improve the historic Trolley Barn in which the Theatre is located.

Convenience Fee

A convenience fee of $2.50 is added to each ticket order.

Restrictions

The operation of cameras, video cassette recorders and other recording devices is strictly prohibited during all performances. Children under 5 are not permitted. No babes in arms.

Late Seating Policy

For the convenience of patrons who arrived on time and for the safety of those arriving late, latecomers will be seated, if seats are available, at an appropriate interval in the performance or at the discretion of the House Manager.

Inclement Weather

ART Station performances are rarely cancelled. If there is questionable weather, please call the Box Office.
