June 17 "A Journey Down Broadway" ART
Station Performance Company The two-week ART Station Youth Performance Program
concludes with the company developed production, A salute to Broadway's most
enduring shows…Performances include music and scenes from your favorite shows.
June 24 Akbar Imhotep "Be Creative" Audience favorite Akbar creates a
fun-filled storytelling and puppetry presentation for reader, listeners and
story lovers, includes stories about creativity and how we all can be
creative. Hand and rod puppets are used to assist this wonderful storyteller
perform his stories.
July 1 Laughing Matters "Acting Out - Improv!" Laughing Matters collects suggestions from the audience regarding setting, characters and themes and then instantly perform sketches, skits, songs, stories and poems using the subjects students choose. Audience members join actors onstage and learn about the basics components of improvisation.
July 15 Wendy Bennett "Sing!" Wendy proves the most versatile instrument is the human voice as she morphs from opera diva to jazz crooner to Broadway belter. The range of musical selections is as broad as the vocal styles with folk songs, love songs and other favorites. Audiences will crow, scat sing, keep rhythm and even perform with Wendy's vocal variations.
