ART Station Financial Update

As many ART Station patrons are already aware, ART Station has been experiencing a financial crisis as a result of the current recession. Over 70% of ART Station’s corporate and foundation support has been lost.

It was announced in early February of 2010 that if ART Station did not raise $150,000 before the end of April that we would be temporary closing down.   Because of the response from the community, ART Station was able to reach that financial goal but, financial assistance is still needed in order to continue operations.  Rusty McKellar, chair of the ART Station Board of Trustees said “We were able to raise the funds needed to meet our financial obligations through June, but we still need donations in order to continue to operate.”

ART Station's financial situation has been featured on WSB-TV, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Champion, The DeKalb Neighbor as well as the local community paper, The Smoke Signal.

According to David Thomas, President and Artistic Director of ART Station, "ART Station has been an anchor in the community for 24 years and we are hopeful that individuals will make a financial donation to support our cause. We have been amazed at the response from local community groups and organizations that have made donations to ART Station. We are in much better financial shape that we were in February, but we still have to continue to raise private donations in order to meet our upcoming financial obligations.”

Please consider a contribution to ART Station.
